Neji was waiting for Tenten to show up for training at their usual grounds. Tenten was never, ever late, thus Neji decided to go to her apartment to see if she was okay.
Neji knocked gently on her door, "Tenten, open up." Instead of being greeted by his fellow team mate, he was face to face with the pink haired kunoichi, Sakura.
"Sakura, where is TenTen?" His white eyes narrowing ever so slightly at the girl.
"Tenten isn't well, Neji. She's caught a fever and is in bed, resting." The Hyuuga boy sighed, "Can I see her?" Sakura opened the door for the boy and let him past her.
Before closing the door behind him Sakura called over her shoulder, "Can you stay with her until I get back? I have to go and get some groceries." The shinobi nodded and Sakura quickly exited Tenten's small apartment.
Neji quietly opened Tenten's bedroom door. The brunette was sitting upright in her small bed, an apologetic look on her face, "I'm sorry I'm late for training…" Neji sighed and responded with, "It doesn't look like you could do much training today Tenten,"
Neji noticed her laboured breathing as she tried to speak.
Breaking the temporary silence Tenten asked, "Are you okay Neji?"
Her team mate responded with his signature, "Hn,"
Tenten glaced at Neji then down at her lap, she sometimes felt uncomfortable when they were together alone and weren't training. It felt strange… Almost alien to the girl.
"Neji, you don't have to be here with me, you-" Before Tenten could finish her sentence Neji cut her off, "Yes, I do now rest,"
Tenten attempted to retort with some witty comeback, but came up with nothing.
After a while Tenten fell asleep, but thanked the Hyuuga boy for taking the time to visit her.
Neji couldn't help but hold Tenten's hand and she smiled in her sleep.
When Sakura returned, she walked in and saw Neji holding Tenten's hand and she couldn't help but giggle to herself as she left the room, leaving behind the two lovers.
